September 2024 – Over 50s Black Men (O5BM) Forum are delighted to announce the receipt of funding from Stevenage Community Trust to start a new O5BM Table Tennis League in Stevenage. Established in 1990, Stevenage Community Trust is an independent charity that provides funding and support to charitable organisations and people in need.
The presentation of the cheque was made by Steve McQueen, who is the current Vice Chair of the Stevenage Community Trust . The ceremony took place on 26th September at The Oval Community Centre, The Oval, Vardon Rd, Stevenage SG1 5RD. This is where we will commence the table tennis sessions from Monday, 7th October, 2024.
In response, our lead contact for Stevenage, Mr Tony Egunjobi, who is a volunteer with O5BM was very excited about the opportunity to help older black men come out of isolation through this initiative, and was very thankful to Stevenage Community Trust for making this happen.
